Intech has developed a series of MDM cutting tools (Metal Disintegration Machining) which provide a unique option for metal cutting in extreme environments. This system is used extensively in the removal of heat exchanger tube samples.
The MDM tooling is compatible with various AC and DC welding power supplies. The process can be used underwater, and can access locations that are impossible to reach with standard machining processes.
The system is capable of severing tubes or cutting viewing windows from the ID at distances up to 75 feet.
The system is designed to operate in any position; overhead, horizontal, downward, and operates in curved tubes.
Various cutting tips and configurations are available.
